Spraker Racing Back to Racing Action
Rookie Andrew Smith Makes Lee USA Speedway Debut

Spraker RacingMOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 28, 2010) - After a four week break in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE), Spraker Racing is ready to get back to the track with rookie Andrew Smith. Smith, who will be driving the No. 37 Spraker Racing Enterprises - Smith Associates Chevrolet, will head to Lee USA Speedway for a one-day show on Friday, July 30.

Looking to the final four races of the season, Smith sits 18th in the point standings and looks to shake off the bad luck that has followed the team this season. He comes off a 19th-place finish at Lime Rock Park during Fourth of July weekend. He battled bad luck to finish in the 19th in his NKNPSE road course debut.

As the series makes a return to the track after a six-year hiatus, Smith is thrilled to take his first laps at the Lee, N.H., track. At .375 miles, Lee USA Speedway is the smallest the NKNPSE runs, and Smith is excited to put his short track experience to use.

"I ran a legends race since Lime Rock, but it will be good to get back in a big car," said the Pooler, Ga., native. "I come from short track racing, so I guess I like it more because to me it has more racing than the bigger tracks. If we can get this monkey off our back, I think we'll finish well."

Smith's best start and finish of the season came at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in January, where he started fourth and finished second. "It doesn't hurt that we have run better on the smaller tracks so far," he continued. "I just wish we raced on more tracks like Lee Speedway. They say it makes Greenville look like a superspeedway. It's just an old-school racetrack and that's where I seem to run well. I'm excited about it. I sure there will be some tore-up race cars after, but that is part of short track racing."

Team Owner Jeff Spraker is also looking forward to get back to the racetrack. "We have had really fast cars" stated Spraker. "If we could just get some luck on our side, we would have better finishes. I am glad we are racing at a short track this weekend. It seems to be where Andrew is most comfortable."

On-track activity at Lee USA Speedway begins on Friday, July 30 at 2 p.m. EST, with final practice at 3:15 p.m. EST. Qualifying for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series 125 will be held at 6 p.m. EST. The green flag will drop for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series 125 at 8:30 p.m. EST, with the race broadcast on SPEED on August 5 at 6 p.m. EST.
