Doug Stevens Drives ProGold Lubricants Car to Pole for Legends Million A-Feature

CONCORD, N.C. (July 17, 2010) - Georgia-based driver Doug Stevens drove his ProGold Lubricants car to the pole for the Legends Million A-Feature at Charlotte Motor Speedway Friday night.

Stevens beat out 14 competitors to take his heat win and the pole for Saturday's race. He'll start the $250,000-to-win A-Feature next to NASCAR Cup Series regular David Ragan.

"You know this is really great, we've had a great car all weekend, and we're very thankful to be in the position we're in," Stevens said. "I'm looking forward to trying to win it all with ProGold on the car."

Stevens started out the inaugural three-day Legends Million event on Thursday by topping the speed charts that set the field for Friday night's heat races. He beat out 144 competitors by posting a 17.246 second time in his ProGold Lubricants car.

Stevens, a familiar name on the Southeast legends circuit, holds the track record for most wins at Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder, with 27 trips to victory lane. Additionally, he has won multiple legends championships at Atlanta and Charlotte. Stevens also has experience racing in the ASA Series, as well as the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards.
